The board of the Bayeux International Circus Festival association (which also manages the André Hébert Bayeux Circus School) met on Friday, August 29 and unanimously appointed a new President in the person of Jérémy Delafontaine.
After more than 22 years at the helm of the association, Arnaud Tanquerel, founder of the Bayeux Festival and its Circus School, has decided to step down. "Jérémy knows our association very well. He is a former student of the circus school, he has been a ring boy for several editions of the festival, he was my biome for the March 2025 edition and joined the association's board in June 2024. Along with the board members, he has my complete confidence."
Jérémy Delafontaine, who has been passionate about the circus since he was 12, says he is "fully aware of the responsibility of being at the head of an association that has succeeded in establishing Circus Arts in the Bessin region over 22 years. I will be keen to continue making the Bayeux International Circus Festival one of the finest in France, but also to continue the development of the Circus School. Moreover, today, its success extends beyond the association; there are more school participants than members of the association!"
Qui est Jérémy Delafontaine ?
Jérémy is 21 years old, he was born in Bayeux and discovered the circus under the big top of the Bayeux school.
With a BTS in Management and Commerce, he knows that his passion for the Circus Arts has always sparked a real passion in him. Soon, weekly practice was not enough for him, and he also became a volunteer at the Caen Christmas Circus. Professionally, for the past two years, he has been in charge of production at the Borsberg Normandy Circus.
