In Icarian games, the bearer, lying on his back, throws and catches his partner with his feet. There is no doubt that this specialty is much older than its first appearance at Philip Astley's Circus in 1777 suggests.
Richard and Alejandro Rossi were born at the Circo Italiano, which their grandfather Claudio Rossi founded in 1961 before relocating to Spain in 1979. There, it toured under various names such as Circo do Japan, Circo Aleman, and Circo Deros. Their father, Ronny, was one of Claudio's eleven children; he presented the elephants. As with many Italian circuses, the Rossi Circus's business is essentially a family affair. It was there that the two brothers learned all the specialties, from juggling and aerial work to acrobatics, but it was in Verona, at the Accademia d'Arte Circenses, that they studied their Icarian Games act.
In 2014, the large German circus Krone hired them for its tour, and they achieved great success!
